This
important start to the swing will determine the outcome when you
strike the ball.
The take away is less than 18" long and should be the result
of a slight hip turn. Set up to the ball and keep everything still.
Now, ever so slightly, rotate your hips to the right. Don't sway.
Limit the turn so that the clubhead only moves 18" or less.
This simple movement is the beginning of all that follows. Notice
that a small movement of the hips moves the clubhead a lot. Don't
change your grip pressure or move the hands at this stage of the
swing. Hold your elbows to your ribs. Stay balanced and feel the
legs reacting to the hip turn.
Practice this move until it is second nature. |
